All i did was install GroundControl 2022 on my computer and use their firmware upload tool to re-flash my control board.
GroundControl_2022 and Firmware_v3.x, can be downloaded for free from Eastbaysource.com website, you need both. Make sure you get the correct versions for your operating system.
I have an eastbay kit, EBS Control Board and upgraded z-axis.
The icrease in cutting speed is substancial.
From EBS website:
- Proper and accurate machine calibration
- Overall cuts are 40% faster than previous versions (40% faster X, Y, and 60% faster Z-axis)
- Soft Z-axis limits
- Spindle speed control via S-commands
- Ability to send G-code commands manually and on the fly
- 100% stable
I have a different board (TLE), but I’ll give it a try anyway, the possibility of a higher cutting speed is worth a shot, and I don’t mind using a different controlling software as long as it fulfills its purpose.
So far, so good. The installation of GC 2022 went off without a hitch. I contacted East Bay to check compatibility before re-flashing and they provided me with a self-installer for my specific board (TLE5206). The sled is considerably faster and more consistent now.
Ground Control is also quicker, and unlike Web Control, the machine responds to commands immediately, making it feel much more responsive now
My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.
